What is covered?

  • The insurance company will cover hospitalisation costs, including day care costs, borne by the insured as a result of illnesses brought on by or linked to HIV/AIDS. The limit is laid out in the Policy Document.
  • Under this benefit, opportunistic infections caused by low immunity status in HIV/AIDS are provided coverage. Acute infections can develop from bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic sources.
  • Medical costs incurred throughout the insurance period up to 90 days prior to hospitalisation will also be covered.
  • This benefit will cover post-hospitalization medical costs for up to 180 days following release and throughout the policy period.

Terms and Conditions

  • Patients with HIV/AIDS require hospitalisation or nursery services since their condition necessitates medical care. The prescription must be written by a licensed physician.
  • The patient has been identified as HIV positive.
  • Until 48 months have passed since the coverage, the insured won’t be qualified for HIV/AIDs benefit.
  • Up to Rs. 50,000 can be claimed as the maximum benefit amount. Within this limit, pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization medical expenses are also covered.

What is not covered

  • This benefit does not apply to chronic illnesses such bronchial asthma, chronic liver disease, ischemic heart disease, chronic kidney disease, cerebro-vascular disease/stroke, or neoplasms that are not directly linked to the patient’s immune level.
